Continuing his dominance as India’s most valued celebrity, Virat Kohli has boosted his overall brand value by nearly 29 percent this year. Kohli had an outstanding season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), entering the T20 World Cup as the Orange Cap winner from the lucrative league.

Kohli also topped the ODI World Cup batting records last year. The 35-year-old broke various batting records to help India reach the 2023 World Cup final. The batting icon received the ICC ODI Player of the Year title and was named to the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year.

Kohli as a Brand?

According to the consultancy firm Kroll, Virat Kohli’s brand value reached USD 227.9 million in 2023. This marked an increase from his previous peak of USD 237.7 million in 2020. Kohli maintained his lead over Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, who took the second spot with a brand value of USD 203.1 million. The Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2023 also revealed that renowned actor Shah Rukh Khan secured the third position with a brand value of USD 120.7 million in 2023.

MS Dhoni, the legendary Indian cricketer, rose one rank on the celebrity brand value list, with a brand worth of USD 95.8 million. Despite standing aside as captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) before the 2024 IPL season, Dhoni’s marketability remains high. Meanwhile, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar ranked ninth with a brand worth of USD 91.3 million. Dhoni’s leadership and persistent popularity continue to increase his brand worth, whilst Tendulkar’s ageless appeal keeps him among India’s most valuable sports icons.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
