A 6-inch-wide replacement pipe has successfully reached the 41 workers who are still trapped after the tunnel collapsed a few days ago, marking a significant advancement in the rescue efforts in Uttarkashi. The administrators intend to provide the stranded workers with wholesome meals packaged in plastic bottles.
Given the difficult circumstances the stranded laborers were in, the authorities conferred with medical professionals to create a customized meal plan that would meet their dietary requirements. Moong khichdi will be sent down the pipe today in order to provide for the workers during this crucial period. The rescue officials have devised a step-by-step plan to feed the stranded people. First, fruits in sealed bottles and a light lunch will be conveyed via the little opening.
Officials also announced that a phone equipped with a charger will be sent to maintain communication.
An international team of tunnelling experts arrived at the site on Monday. As the rescue operation entered the ninth day, International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association president Arnold Dix was among the experts at the site to oversee the operation.
“Those men will be freed by us. Here, excellent work is being done. With the help of our entire team, we will solve the problem and remove them. Here, a great deal of work is being done. It’s critical that both the individuals who were rescued and the rescuers stay safe, the man told news agency ANI.
