Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh today said that once the state elects a BJP government Jheeram Ghati massacre investigation will be on top of their agenda.

pic.twitter.com/vuidFM8fJl

It is to be noted that elections for all 90 assembly seats in Chhattisgarh has concluded on November 17 with the counting slated for December 3.

Recently, the Supreme Court rejected a plea by National Investigative Agency (NIA) which was against the state police probing the matter. A bench consisting of  Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra have rejected the NIA appeal.

” For the last five years it was Congress government which ruled the state. They claimed to possess the records of the case in their pockets and till now not a single chargesheet have been filed. This is the strength of their claim,” said Raman Singh, senior BJP leader and the former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.

Additional Solicitor General SV Raju represented the NIA  while Advocates ANS Nadkarni and Sumeer Sodhi represented the Chhattisgarh government. Both Nandkarni and Sodhi told the Supreme Court that  NIA  never investigated the “political conspiracy” angle and  in fact closed the case. The apex court was informed that the outgoing regime has even appealed the central government to initiate a CBI enquiry into the case as the NIA hasn’t done it’s duty.

It is to be recalled that senior Congress leaders Vidyacharan Shukla, Nandkumar Patel, Mahendra Karma and some security  personnel, were killed after their convoy was attacked by Naxals in Jheeram Valley in Bastar district on May 25, 2013

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
