A US military aircraft transporting 104 undocumented Indian migrants, comprising 13 children, arrived in Amritsar on Wednesday during President Donald Trump’s enforcement against illegal immigrants in the United States.
Officials from the police and civil administration were present at the airport to welcome the 104 undocumented immigrants, including 79 men and 25 women.
A representative from the US Embassy was also present.
Sources indicate that the majority of deportees were apprehended at the US-Mexico border.
The deportees are not criminals in India, since they may have taken the legal path to exit the country, but attempted to enter the US through the illegal “donkey” route.
There is likewise no basis for arrest as they have not breached Indian laws.
