On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled to Prayagraj, where he bathed in the sacred waters at the Triveni Sangam during the holy occasions of Magh Ashtami and Bhishma Ashtami.
Clad in a saffron tracksuit and sweatshirt, PM Modi prayed at Triveni Sangam holding rudraksha beads, reciting Sanskrit mantras, before performing aarti in a navy blue kurta, black jacket, and a Himachali woolen cap.
Following the ritual bath, PM Modi is heading to speak to a group of saints from various akharas and discuss nation-building, as per sources.
Previously, PM Modi was observed enjoying a boat ride with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Areal Ghat to Maha Kumbh, where he is expected to immerse himself at the Sangam Ghat around 11:30 am.
PM Modi reached Prayagraj Airport at 10:05 am before heading to Areal Ghat at 10:45 am.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju immersed himself in a sacred bath at the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet.
February 5 holds particular importance in the Hindu calendar, as numerous individuals celebrate Magh Ashtami and Bhishma Ashtami. Today also coincides with Gupt Navratri, a favorable occasion when numerous devotees participate in fasting and meditation practices. By 10 am, more than 10 lakh worshippers have already bathed today.
