President Donald Trump has paused all military assistance to Ukraine, as per reports, significantly heightening pressure on Kyiv to agree to peace talks with Russia. The situation arises just days following Trump’s remarkable public disagreement with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
“The President has made it clear that his focus is on achieving peace. We require our allies to also be dedicated to that objective as well,” a White House official stated, according to AFP.
Sources informed CNN that the suspension is anticipated to remain in effect until Trump believes that the nation’s leaders have demonstrated a genuine commitment to peace. “This is not an indefinite cut of aid, it’s a suspension,” a Trump administration official remarked.

Notably, Trump recently stressed the importance of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, indicating that those who refuse to negotiate will not endure for long. He also conveyed that Russia is prepared to come to an understanding.
“It shouldn’t be such a challenging agreement to reach. It could be accomplished very quickly. Perhaps someone is uninterested in striking a deal, and if someone is uninterested in striking a deal, I believe that individual won’t be around for very long…Because I think that Russia desires to reach an agreement,” Trump stated during his latest media appearance.
Repeatedly, Trump has accused Zelenskyy of lacking a desire for peace “as long as he continues to get support from America and Europe. ”
