Following a public feud among Trinamool Congress MPs exposed by leaked videos and WhatsApp screenshots, party leader Kalyan Banerjee has stepped forward, pointing fingers at a “rude female MP” whom he alleges attempted to have him detained.
‘Would step down if Mamata found me wrong’: Kalyan Banerjee
Without mentioning any names, Kalyan Banerjee criticized an MP, claiming she “has no other issue in her politics except Modi and Adani.” He also mentioned that he could handle pressure from anyone except the “particular MP,” stating that he would step down if Mamata Banerjee claimed he was mistaken.
“I will not accept that uncivilised woman! I will not tolerate that rude female MP who pressurises me to give her more time (to speak in Parliament). What is this?” he said in a press conference.

The BJP’s IT Cell head Amit Malviya shared the clips and screenshots of the feud, stating that the event occurred on April 4 at the Election Commission of India headquarters, where the Trinamool team had visited to submit a representation.
In the clip, Kalyan Banerjee is heard vocally attacking the other lawmaker, as another voice — allegedly that of Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien — attempts to calm things down. Kalyan Banerjee mentions, “They are so unruly,” and, “Saying will get me arrested…” The voice thought to belong to O’Brien is heard stating, “We are in a public space, brother; I’m pleading with you.”
Reacting to the video, Kalyan Banerjee said that when he reached the poll panel’s office, “a female MP” charged at him.
“She was shouting at the top of her voice and I responded accordingly. In the meantime, she ran to the BSF and asked them to arrest me,” Banerjee alleged. Without naming any MP, Kalyan Banerjee said, “This lady has no other issue in her politics except Modi and Adani. She never challenges any other BJP leader. How dare she ask for my arrest? Who is she?”

Saugata Roy claimed Kalyan Banerjee was wrong
Trinamool MP Saugata Roy responded to the videos, stating that Mahua Moitra, Trinamool’s fiery leader, was observed in tears in Parliament. He claimed that Kalyan Banerjee acted inappropriately toward a “female MP,” which led to her uprising.
Lashing out at Kalyana Banerjee, Roy said, “She was going to complain about Kalyan’s behaviour. Many MPs said Kalyan’s behaviour cannot be tolerated and that Mamata Banerjee should be informed about it.” Roy, however, said that he wasn’t present when the argument took place.
