Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited Sigachi Pharma Industries in Sangareddy district on Tuesday, where a deadly explosion the day before claimed at least 34 lives and injured many others.
The Chief Minister convened a review meeting and instructed officials to provide a comprehensive report on the investigation into the explosion’s cause.
Revanth Reddy directed officials to provide Rs 1 crore to the families of workers who died in the blast and Rs 10 lakh to those who sustained injuries. The Chief Minister also inquired about the condition of the injured victims and their hospital costs.

‘Never experienced such a disaster’
Reddy, who examined the blast site in Pashamylaram of Sangareddy on Tuesday, remarked that the State has never experienced a disaster resulting in such loss of life.
During discussions with factory officials, Chief Minister Reddy stated, “Avoid concluding based on assumptions or general beliefs. I require need specific explanations for this incident. Only after that can we discuss what occurred here.”
Revanth Reddy highlighted that these occurrences should act as a lesson for the government and industry stakeholders. “We should concentrate on the guidelines we need to provide to prevent similar issues in different sectors like this. From this, we require two things: a comprehensive report and accountability,” he added.

Meanwhile, a specialized forensic team from Osmania General Hospital has been called in to assist with autopsies and the collection of DNA samples. To date, autopsies have been conducted on 15 corpses, with just four victims recognized.
