Suryakumar Yadav, who is recovering from a sports hernia surgery at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy (NCA), may miss the first two IPL 2024 games. Suryakumar had an injury in South Africa during his most recent international match, necessitating surgery in January.
The hard hitting batsman is presently undergoing treatment at NCA, and while it is understood that a competitive return is imminent, it is unclear when he will rejoin the Mumbai Indians for the 2024 IPL.
SKY has been sharing a lot of footage of his strength and conditioning workouts, but he hasn’t been seen hitting yet, which will allow us to better gauge his development.

The Mumbai Indians take on the Gujarat Titans on March 24 in the IPL 2024 season opener before hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 27. Surya is anticipated to be fit for most of the 2024 Indian Premier League, although his status for the opening two matches is uncertain.
“Surya’s recovery is on track, and he will undoubtedly ‘Return to Play’ in the IPL. The NCA’s Sports Science and Medical Team’s approval to play in the first two away games against Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad (March 27) is yet unknown, though”, a BCCI source told news agency PTI.
In addition to Mumbai, SKY is a key member of Team India, and the BCCI surely wouldn’t want to push him given that the T20 World Cup begins right after the IPL.
