The Upcoming Skoda Kylaq
Skoda, the major German automobile company, is ready to introduce its newest model, the Kylaq, in India on November 6. Sub-compact SUVs are popular because they are more affordable than larger SUVs, have practical designs, and sit higher off the ground. This sector has quickly become popular with Indian customers, causing numerous car manufacturers to improve their offerings with comparable products.
In light of this trend, Skoda is striving to strengthen its presence as a leading competitor in the Indian affordable premium car market with the Kylaq.
Skoda’s latest teasers focus on highlighting the key design elements of the Kylaq, staying true to the brand’s Bohemian Crystal design philosophy, which is reminiscent of other models such as the Kushaq and Slavia.
Skoda Kylaq expected features
Interestingly, the teaser video shows the headlight shape, taillight design, and unique Kylaq emblem on the back of the SUV. The car could come equipped with fully LED headlights including daytime running lights, providing a contemporary look and increased visibility.
According to a report from HT Auto, the Skoda Kylaq is expected to be equipped with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that produces 114 bhp of peak power and 178 Nm of maximum torque. Reportedly, buyers may choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Skoda Kylaq competitors
When it comes to competition, this small SUV is targeting well-known competitors like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV300 in the market. Skoda, as a member of the Volkswagen Group, is eager to take advantage of the increasing popularity of utility vehicles in India.
