Rohit Sharma, who is a very skilled player, as well as captain has lead the Indian team to greater heights, but when it comes to DRS decision he hasn’t been spot on. On day 4 of the First test against Bangladesh at Chepauk , Rohit refused to review a caught– behind decision despite being insisted on by wicket- keeper Rishabh Pant.
Pant tried a lot to persuade Rohit to take the review by saying that he heard something but Rohit stood his ground and refused to take the review. However, when the replay was shown on the screen it left the Indian captain gutted and shocked, especially when Pant was standing next to him.
The incident took place during the 62nd over of Bangladesh’s 2nd innings during 1st test when Ravichandran Ashwin was bowling to Bangladesh’s Hasan Mahmud. The delivery spun quit a lot and bounced high, which took Hasan by surprise and in the process the ball brushed Hasan’s gloves and Pant caught the ball. Hence, it seemed that the ball had hit the forearm before landing into the gloves of Rishabh Pant. Pant insisted on taking the review as he was convinced that the ball has hit the gloves.

Rohit could be heard saying to Pant ” Esa bolega na to jo sach wala rahega woh bhi nahi le paunga me” ( If you keep saying like this I wouldn’t be able to make a genuine decision”.
Soon when the replay was shown on the big screen it showed that the ball had hit the gloves.
“Out tha, abe yaar replay dekh to lo” ( it was out, at least see the replay ), Pant could be heard saying to Rohit.
Nonetheless, the wrong decision didn’t haunt the Indian team as they claimed a comprehensive 280 run win in the 1st test.
Skipper Rohit Sharma praised Pant for his brilliant performance with the bat as he made his comeback into test cricket after the accident.
Rohit also praised Ashwin for his all round performance with both bat and ball and how clinically he bowled in the match.
