Prateek Yadav, a businessman and fitness enthusiast was reportedly suffering from lung-related complications and was declared dead on arrival at a Lucknow hospital.

Lucknow, May 13: Prateek Yadav, businessman and member of the influential Yadav political family of Uttar Pradesh, died in Lucknow on Wednesday morning after reportedly suffering from prolonged health complications. He was 38.
Prateek, the younger son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, was taken to the Civil Hospital in Lucknow by family members around 6.15 am, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Officials said a post-mortem examination would be conducted at King George’s Medical University to ascertain the exact cause of death. Preliminary findings reportedly showed no visible injury marks on the body.

Family sources said Prateek had been battling lung-related ailments for a considerable period and was undergoing treatment for a blood clot in his lungs. His condition allegedly deteriorated early Wednesday morning after he became unresponsive.
Prateek was also the stepbrother of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
An MBA graduate from University of Leeds, he was associated with the real estate business and was widely known for his passion for fitness and bodybuilding. In 2012, he gained attention after featuring on an international bodybuilding platform for his dramatic physical transformation.
He had also courted controversy in 2017 over the purchase of a Lamborghini sports car, drawing criticism from political opponents over the socialist image of the Yadav family. Prateek had defended the purchase, stating that it was made through legal earnings and bank loans.

Prateek and Aparna Yadav married in 2011 after several years of courtship and are survived by two children. Reports of strain in their marriage had surfaced earlier this year following emotional social media posts hinting at divorce, although no formal separation took place.
