Today’s closing ceremony of the centenary festivities at Delhi University will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi used the Delhi Metro today to attend the event.
“Looking forward to joining the University of Delhi’s centenary celebrations at 11 AM tomorrow, 30th June. As a premier centre of learning, DU has been nurturing talent and fostering intellectual growth for a century. Congratulations to the DU fraternity on this milestone.” Modi tweeted on Twitter.

The Prime Minister will virtually lay the cornerstone for three buildings at the occasion, and he will also reveal a selection of coffee table books.
Prior to PM Modi’s live telecast, a number of DU colleges, according to the news agency PTI, have released a set of instructions. These rules stipulate that both students and professors must be in class each day, that black clothing is not permitted, and that courses will be dismissed between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

POWER CORRIDORS

Power Corridors (PC), as the name suggests, is about realpolitik—what is happening in the quarters that matter, how and why it is happening, the statics and dynamics of the affairs of the state. Yet, PC is not confined to power politics; it goes beyond the vicissitudes of Lutyen’s Delhi. It also features the most important developments in the economy, society, culture, cinema—in life in general.

It is a general magazine, but it offers insights that would be the envy of specialist publications and academic journals. For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
