Paris Olympics: Lakshya eyes bronze; Nisha Dahiya to kickstart wrestling campaign

Lakshya Sen will face-off against Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia on Monday, August 5, with the goal of adding another bronze medal to India's tally at the Paris Olympics 2024. Day 9 brought a mixed bag of emotions as the Indian hockey team stormed into the semi-finals with a penalty shootout victory over Great Britain. Meanwhile, Lovlina Borgohain lost the 75kg quarterfinal to top seed Li Qian. Lakshya Sen lost a tough match to defending champion Viktor Axelsen.

Day 10 looks to be promising for India

The day 10 of the Paris Olympics 2024 promises to deliver some delight to the Indian competitors who have returned to action in pursuit of a gold.

While the spotlight will be on Lakshya’s bronze medal match, the women’s table tennis team will also compete in the round of 16. Nisha Dahiya is expected to lead India’s wrestling campaign in the women’s 68kg freestyle pre-quarterfinals.

Nisha Dahiya in action in Wrestling

Nisha Dahiya will kick off India’s wrestling campaign at the Paris Olympics in 2024. Nisha will compete in the Women’s Freestyle 68kg Round of 16 bouts at Champ-de-Mars Arena. The 25-year-old from Haryana will meet Tetiana Rizhko of Ukraine.
