Heaven forbid. No. “What’s correct is correct,” remarked Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah when questioned in an interview about sounding “like a BJP spokesperson” while criticizing the Congress’s assertions regarding the dependability of EVMs. Nonetheless, a deeper examination of Abdullah’s comments reveals a striking resemblance to the rhetoric employed by the BJP against the Congress regarding its accusations of EVM manipulation.
Indeed, merely one day prior to Abdullah stirring controversy by rejecting his ally Congress’s concerns about EVMs, Union Home Minister Amit Shah employed a comparable tactic to undermine the opposition party’s accusation.
During his speech at the Agenda AajTak event, Amit Shah ridiculed Rahul Gandhi for “celebrating” the Congress’s Lok Sabha results after the party secured 100 seats, marking its best showing in ten years.
Pointing out that the Lok Sabha elections were held with the same EVMs that Congress is criticizing now, Shah stated, “Rahul Gandhi thinks he won the Lok Sabha elections, so the EVMs were acceptable.” When Congress took power in Jharkhand, the EVMs were functioning properly. However, when the people overcame them in Maharashtra, the EVMs started to malfunction. It’s similar to “an incompetent tradesman attributing his failures to his equipment.”
The following day, Abdullah applied the same reasoning to mock the Congress, stating that the EVMs “can’t be an issue only when you are defeated in elections.”

The Congress is a coalition partner of Omar Abdullah’s National Conference in J&K. Abdullah’s comments not only unsettled the Congress but also deepened the divide in the opposition coalition.
The Congress, already annoyed about being excluded from the J&K Cabinet, retaliated against Abdullah, probing his “altered stance” upon becoming the Chief Minister.
“It is the Samajwadi Party, NCP, and Shiv Sena (UBT) that have voiced concerns regarding EVMs.” Kindly verify your information. “Why adopt this strategy toward our partners following our time as CM?” Congress MP Manickam Tagore posted on Twitter.
