London:

Shubman Gill, freshly appointed India’s 37th Test captain, led the team in a high intensity training session at Lord’s today, June 8, 2025. The workout, featuring dynamic drills and net practice, marked the beginning of an aggressive build up to the five‑match Test series that starts against England on June 20 in Leeds.

India’s pace battery Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh alongside key players Rishabh Pant and all‑rounder Ravindra Jadeja, participated under the watchful eyes of head coach Gautam Gambhir. The focus was clear: replicate English conditions and enhance match intensity.

Strength Stability with Adrian le Roux:

Adrian le Roux has re‑joined the setup as India’s strength & conditioning coach, replacing Soham Desai. A veteran with prior national team experience (2002–03), le Roux will guide players through tailored sessions vital for stamina in English weather and Test demands.

A New Era Without Rohit and Kohli:

This tour marks the first time Tests will be contested without veteran stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Gill has reassured the press that “there is no extra pressure,” emphasizing confidence in the fresh leadership and squad balance.

Warming Up with Match Practice:

KL Rahul, aiming to fill the void at No. 4, recently scored a commanding 116 in the second unofficial Test against England Lions at Northampton an encouraging sign for India’s top‑order depth.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
