New Delhi; Everyone is eagerly anticipating the Union Budget 2024 now that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced his Cabinet for the third straight time. Nirmala Sitharaman, who has been reinstalled as Finance Minister, will present the budget in July.
The finance minister presented an interim budget on February 1.
After taking over as finance minister in the Modi 3.0 government, Sitharaman explained the aims and how the 2024 full budget will address key elements of the Indian economy.

What the Finance Minister said;Â
- Sitharaman stated that the government is firmly dedicated to ensuring ‘Ease of Living’ for its inhabitants and will take additional initiatives in this direction.
- He asked the ministries to reinvigorate their efforts to pursue the NDA government’s development agenda and guarantee responsive policymaking to accomplish the Prime Minister’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
- Sitharaman remarked that the changes implemented since 2014 will continue to deliver macroeconomic stability and growth for India.
The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will begin on June 24, with new Lower House members taking oath and the Speaker being elected.
President Droupadi Murmu will address a joint session of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on June 27 and is expected to lay out the new government’s plan for the next five years. The session will end on July 3.
Sitharaman, who is recognized with advancing second-generation reforms during her last tenure, would set a record by delivering the seventh budget in a row and the sixth full budget consecutively.
In her political career, she has achieved numerous accomplishments. She set a landmark when she became the first female Raksha Mantri, or Defence Minister, in 2017. Previously, she served as Minister of Industry and Commerce.
