The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched a large-scale operation on Thursday, conducting searches at 32 locations across Jammu and Kashmir as part of its ongoing probe into a terror conspiracy orchestrated by Pakistan-backed proscribed terrorist organizations and their offshoots.
The operation targeted groups such as The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (ULFJ&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, and PAAF, which are affiliated with banned outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Al-Badr.
The searches focused on the residential premises of hybrid terrorists and overground workers suspected of supporting terrorist activities, including facilitating attacks, handling sticky bombs, magnetic bombs, IEDs, funds, narcotic substances, and arms/ammunition.

According to the NIA, these Pakistan-based organizations have been conspiring to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir by radicalizing local youth, mobilizing overground workers, and orchestrating acts of terror to disrupt peace and communal harmony in the region.
Investigations have uncovered the use of social media and online apps by Pakistan-based operatives to promote and facilitate terror activities.

Additionally, drones have been employed to deliver arms, ammunition, explosives, and narcotics to operatives in the Kashmir Valley. During the searches, the NIA recovered two live cartridges, one fired bullet head, one bayonet, and several digital devices containing significant volumes of incriminating data and documents. These materials will undergo thorough scrutiny to further unravel the terror conspiracy.
The NIA’s operation underscores its commitment to dismantling terror networks in Jammu and Kashmir. The agency stated that investigations are ongoing to identify and neutralize additional threats posed by these groups and their supporters.
This crackdown follows heightened security concerns in the region, with authorities intensifying efforts to curb cross-border terrorism and its local support structures.
