On Thursday, US President Donald Trump declared the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, accused of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, to India, stating he will confront justice. He delivered the announcement during the joint press conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after their bilateral meeting at the White House.
“I am happy to share that my administration has sanctioned the extradition of a plotter (Tahawwur Rana) and one of the most evil people globally, connected to the terrible 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack, to face justice in India.” Trump stated that he is returning to India to face justice.
India has been advocating for the extradition of Rana, who was found guilty related to the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and is presently incarcerated in a Los Angeles jail.
The Canadian individual of Pakistani descent is connected to Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley, who is also referred to as “Daood Gilani,” an important player in the attacks.
He faces allegations of assisting Headley and others in Pakistan in facilitating the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in executing the attack.
