The trailer for Pankaj Tripathi’s next movie, Main Atal Hoon, which was just released, explores important moments in the life of the late former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The trailer features significant events such as the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, the early political challenges of Atal Bihari, the opposition to Indira Gandhi during the Emergency, the demolition of the Babri Masjid, the Pokhran nuclear test, and the Kargil War.
According to the description, the trailer shows Atal Bihari Vajpayee in a capacity other than that of a prime minister, statesman, and poet. The opening scene features Pankaj Tripathi, also known as Vajpayee, watching a movie, highlighting the impact of the media on public opinion.
As the scenes play out, Vajpayee is shown taking criticism and dealing with complexity, including talking about Nathuram Godse’s affiliation with the RSS, a group that Vajpayee was a member of. The cast of the movie includes Harshad Kumar, Prasanna Ketkar, Haresh Khatri, Paula McGlynn, Gauri Sukhtankar, Daya Shankar Pandey, Pramod Pathak, Paayal Kapoor Nair, and Piyush Mishra. slated for January 19 theatrical release.
Pankaj Tripathi posted a video of himself riding the recently opened Atal Setu in Maharashtra prior to the trailer’s Tuesday debut. The late former Prime Minister’s alma mater, DAV School, and the actor’s connection to both are captured in the video, which features students from the latter institution alongside the actor.
