On Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party unveiled its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. 111 applicants were listed on the list, including Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut, former Union minister Maneka Gandhi, and Arun Govil of Ramayan fame.
Arun Govil, well known for Ramayan, will run in the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024 from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, while Kangana Ranaut will represent Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
Varun Gandhi was dropped from the Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat by the BJP, while his mother, Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh’s Maneka Gandhi, was kept in the seat. Varun Gandhi is replaced in Pilibhit by Uttar Pradesh minister Jitin Prasada in the fifth list.
Varun Gandhi dropped
Several current members of parliament have been dismissed off the fifth list, which also includes numerous new members like Sira Soren from Dumka and Naveen Jindal from Kurukshetra. Among them, Pilibhit MP Varun Gandhi is a notable figure.
Jitin Prasada, a former Congress politician, has taken Varun’s place as the candidate to represent Pilibhit once more. Varun held the seat for two terms. However, Varun’s mother, Maneka Gandhi, has remained in Sultanpur.
Pilibhit will be voting in the first round of the Lok Sabha 2024 elections on April 19, along with seven other constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. Nominations for the election opened on March 20.
Kangana Ranaut from Mandi
There was talk of Kangana Ranaut contesting elections for a long time. Finally, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has given him ticket from Mandi seat of Himachal Pradesh. On Sunday night, BJP released the fifth list for the Lok Sabha elections in which Kangana’s name was also announced. The actress has tweeted and given her reaction.
