Delhi Capitals Star batsman KL Rahul surpassed big hitters like MS Dhoni and AB De Villiers and became the third quickest ever in IPL to reach 200 sixes during the match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, April 19.
KL Rahul who has been in ominous form this season for Delhi played another quickfire knock of 28 off just 14 deliveries with the help of 4 fours and 1 six. He smashed Mohammed Siraj over the long-on boundary for a big six to achieve the milestone.
Rahul became the third-fastest overall to get to 200-sixes milestone achieving this in his 129th IPL inning. Only Chris Gayle (69 innings) and Andre Russell (97 innings) have achieved the milestone faster.
In doing so, he also became the fastest Indian to reach to the milestone. Before Rahul, the record for the quickest Indian to reach 200 sixes was held by Sanju Samson, who accomplished it in 159 innings.

Ever since he joined Delhi Capitals for the 2025 season, Rahul has been in remarkable form. Although eyebrows were raised about his ability to play an aggressive style of cricket after a quiet season with Lucknow Super Giants last year—where he accumulated 530 runs at a strike rate of 136—the Karnataka batsman has convincingly put his critics to rest.
Unshackled from the responsibility of captaincy, Rahul has batted with renewed intent and focus. In the seven games he has played so far, Rahul has accumulated 294 runs with an impressive strike rate exceeding 300. The opener attributed his bold style in the shortest format to Abhishek Nayar, who recently became part of Kolkata Knight Riders after being dismissed from his role as India’s assistant coach.
