Officials stated that a 15-year-old student from Kozhikode district in Kerala died due to serious head injuries sustained during a confrontation with peers who reportedly assaulted him with a nunchuck, a weapon often used in martial arts.

The event took place on Thursday close to a private tutoring center in Thamarassery. The victim, recognized as Muhammed Shahabas, a 10th-grade student at MJ Higher Secondary School, had been receiving care at Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital.

Kozhikode Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) KE Baiju has verified that a murder case has been lodged against five Class 10 pupils from the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School located in Thamarassery, according to NDTV.

Following the assault, Shahabas hurried to a nearby shopping center. Rather than returning home, he got onto a motorcycle with someone else, started to vomit, yet did not pursue immediate medical assistance. He visited a friend’s place to relax before finally going back home.

His condition deteriorated subsequently, leading his family to bring him to Thamarassery Taluk Hospital. Despite doctors’ initial inability to recognize the severity of his injuries, his health worsened, leading to his transfer to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, where he stayed in a coma until he passed away.

Officials think the confrontation was triggered by an argument at a farewell celebration at the tutoring center. The dispute turned into a physical conflict at approximately 5 pm on February 23.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
