On the brink of being knocked out, Sunrisers Hyderabad come back home on Monday (May 5) to play against the struggling Delhi Capitals in an effort to boost their IPL 2025 campaign once again.
DC are currently placed 5th with 12 Points
The Capitals are positioned just outside the qualification zone with 12 points after 10 matches. They have found it challenging to maintain the momentum acquired after a record-setting beginning to their season once they returned to their home ground.
IPL 2025: POINTS TABLE
Following a victory in five of their initial six matches, Delhi’s campaign lost momentum midway as they ended up losing three of their last four games. With just four games left to play and the next three matches after Monday against teams all positioned above them in the standings, the challenge is set to intensify for Axar and his team as the competition reaches its climax.

Batting failures have let DC down
In all their recent losses, the batting has not clicked for Delhi as a unit, even though different players have stepped up in each of those innings. Coincidentally, all of their upcoming matches are at high-scoring locations, placing the responsibility on the batting unit to step up and deliver full performances to assist DC in clinching a playoffs spot.
Though KL Rahul has handled the responsibility effectively and is the team’s top run-scorer, Faf du Plessis’s return with a half-century in the latest match bodes well for Delhi.
SRH need to win almost everything from here
SRH’s campaign swiftly derailed even though they kept the seasoned core of the Class of ’24 that finished just behind KKR. At this time last year, they were securely in the top four, but Hyderabad has had difficulty moving out of the bottom half this season, securing just one victory in their first five matches and two in their last five games.
Holding six points and having four games in hand, SRH remain in the competition mathematically – requiring other outcomes to favor them, even if they embark on a winning streak from now on.
