IPL 2024, Match 61: CSK vs RR
In the 61st IPL 2024 match, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will square off. At 3:30 PM IST on Sunday, the day game of the doubleheader will take place at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Rajasthan Royals have won the toss and decided to bat first.
Crucial match for both teams
This match is an important one for both the teams as the race for the playoff intensifies. Both teams would want to take those crucial 2 points.
A couple of days ago, the twin hundreds scored by Gill and Sudharsan caught CSK off guard. But now that they’re back at home and the reigning champions are ready to prevail in similar circumstances.
Although CSK’s bowling was bad against the Titans, they should recover in this afternoon’s match. They get one step closer to the playoff with a victory here.

Throughout the first half of the season, the Royals appeared unbeatable, but in the last few games, they have ran out of steam. They are currently ranked number two and the situation is only going to get worse.
Sanju Samson and company will be looking to carve out a stress-free route into the playoffs themselves after losing two consecutive close games due to the middle order’s inability to complete chases.
Sanju Samson has been in great form this season
Sanju Samson, the captain of Rajasthan, demonstrated his batting prowess with a remarkable innings against Delhi, scoring 86 runs off just 46 balls in their most recent meeting. With 471 runs in 11 innings, Samson leads the RR run-scoring rankings and is enjoying a fantastic season at the bat. His outstanding wicketkeeping abilities could also result in bonus points.
After winning the toss Sanju said, “We would like to bat first. Looks like a decent wicket, don’t expect any dew. Change of conditions and weather, got time to adapt to it. Need to give it all in this game…”

CSK Captain has been in great nick too
Even though Chennai Super Kings’ captain Ruturaj Gaikwad did not have a big impact against Gujarat in the previous game, he is still very good in the IPL 2024.
Gaikwad has been in incredible form, with 541 runs in 12 innings, including one century and four half-centuries, trailing just Virat Kohli in the race for the Orange Cap.
