India face Canada in T20 World Cup today
India will face Canada on June 15 at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Florida. However, extreme weather conditions pose a hazard to the game. Cricket fans’ disappointment was exacerbated by flash flood warnings.
The USA vs Scotland match at the same venue was canceled due to weather. India has already qualified from Group A for the Super 8 stage of the competition, therefore the outcome of the game will have no bearing on Rohit Sharma‘s team.

Will Virat Kohli be rested?
However, the Men in Blue may be more concerned about the outcome of this encounter. Virat Kohli, India’s typical number three opener, has yet to find his form in this tournament. He scored one from five against Ireland and four from three against Pakistan. He was out on a Golden Duck versus the USA.
This match will allow him to regain his form before the Super 8. India has played all three of its matches at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The pitch there did not allow for high-scoring matches. In fact, India’s greatest total at the T20 World Cup 2024 thus far is 119/10 versus Pakistan. Virat’s lack of runs hasn’t hurt India too much.
However, pitches in the West Indies are believed to be more favourable to batters. That is why India needs Virat Kohli to return to form. On the other hand, India may try Sanju Samson and Kuldeep Yadav, who have yet to play. Ravindra Jadeja has not been effective thus far. Kuldeep, who was in good form during the IPL 2024, may be raring to play.

Canada’s first-ever T20I match against India
This will be Canada’s first T20I cricket match versus India, and there are several India-Pakistan cricketers on the side.
Their captain is Saad Bin Zafar, who is of Pakistani heritage. The Canadian team also contains Indian-born cricketers like Navneet Dhaliwal, Pargat Singh, and Shreyas Movva. Kaleem Sana and Junaid Siddiqui are two more Pakistani-born cricketers on the team.
Nonetheless, the main question is whether a match is achievable. Forecasts of isolated thunderstorms throughout the day do not appear encouraging.
