India expresses concern over Iran-Israel row

After increased tension between Israel and Iran, rumors of another war have intensified in Western Asia. Meanwhile, Iran’s Navy has captured the cargo ship of Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer. Now a big news has come out regarding this ship. It is being told that there are seventeen Indians on board this ship. Sources said India is in touch with Iranian authorities through diplomatic channels in the capital Delhi and Tehran for the safe release of the Indians on board.

In response to the growing tensions between Iran and Israel, the Ministry of External Affairs called for an immediate de-escalation on Sunday after Iran attacked Israel with an air strike.

“We are seriously concerned at the escalation of hostilities between Israel and Iran which threatens the peace and security in the region. We call for immediate de-escalation, exercise of restraint, stepping back from violence and return to the path of diplomacy. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation. Our Embassies in the region are in close touch with the Indian community. It is vital that security and stability are maintained in the region,” the statement released by the MEA read.

Iran-Israel Row

Iran’s Navy has taken this action when the Iranian Consulate in Syria was attacked by Israel 12 days ago. On April 1, the Iranian Consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus was attacked by warplanes. The attack killed at least 11 people, including a senior commander of the al-Quds force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). All of them were attending a meeting at the Damascus embassy complex.

The attack was blamed on Israel, which did not claim responsibility. Iran has been upset since this attack. Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had strongly criticized it and described it as an attack on Iranian soil. He also said that Israel should and will be punished for its operation.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
