Our Embassies in the region are in close touch with the Indian community. It is vital that security and stability are maintained in the region,” the statement released by the MEA read.

Iran-Israel Row
Iran’s Navy has taken this action when the Iranian Consulate in Syria was attacked by Israel 12 days ago. On April 1, the Iranian Consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus was attacked by warplanes. The attack killed at least 11 people, including a senior commander of the al-Quds force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). All of them were attending a meeting at the Damascus embassy complex.
The attack was blamed on Israel, which did not claim responsibility. Iran has been upset since this attack. Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had strongly criticized it and described it as an attack on Iranian soil. He also said that Israel should and will be punished for its operation.
