Exit polls predict massive victory for NDA
After a marathon Lok Sabha election in 2024, which lasted six weeks and was the second longest general election since 1951-52, it is time for exit polls. A big win for the ruling BJP-led NDA has been predicted by twelve exit polls – India Today- Axis My India (361-401), News 24-Today’s Chanakya (400), ABP News-C Voter (353-383), Republic Bharat- P Marq (359), India News- D-Dyanamics (371), Republic Bharat- Matrize (353-368), Dainik Bhaskar (281-350), News Nation (342-378), TV 9 Bharatvarsh- Polstrat (342), Times Now-ETG (358), India TV- CNX (362-392) and Jan Ki Baat (362-392).
Exit polls also forecast NDA supremacy in Karnataka and Maharashtra, as well as a defeat for the Left-led alliance in Kerala. In Bengal, exit polls anticipated a stronger performance for the BJP than the last election (22). Most exit polls predict that the BJP will now be Bengal’s single-largest party in terms of Lok Sabha seats.
BJP set to sweep Congress-ruled states
The Congress may be in for a shocker, as most exit polls forecast a landslide victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in three states where the grand old party rules: Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 73, and his BJP are widely anticipated to return to power for a third consecutive term. The Congress, hampered by poll losses and a number of defections, is a member of the Opposition coalition INDIA opposing the BJP.
In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 303 seats, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) increased the total to 352. The Congress won 52 seats, while the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) took 91.
‘Interested in votes of people’: Shashi Tharoor
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor described the exit poll projections, which anticipated a third straight win for the NDA, including a significant gain in the south, as “deeply unscientific” and stated that they are more concerned in people’s votes.
He also stated that the BJP will not make gains in Kerala or Tamil Nadu, and will lose “significantly” in Karnataka.
