According to sources, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul may join the BJP, dealing a serious blow to the Congress party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. But neither Kamal Nath nor Nakul Nath provided an official statement.

BJP spokesperson and former media advisor to Kamal Nath, Narendra Saluja, uploaded a picture of the former chief minister and his son in Bhopal with the phrase, “Jai Shri Ram,” sparking curiosity about the development.

Meanwhile, Nakul Nath, the Congress MP from Chhindwara, even removed ‘Congress’ from his profile bio on X.

The father and son are expected to reach Delhi later today.

Digvijaya Singh, the leader of the Congress, addressed Kamal Nath on Friday night in response to the rumors, saying, “How could we expect the man who started his political career with the Nehru-Gandhi family, to leave?”

“We should not even expect such a thing,” he stated.

A similar development is that Sonkatch, Madhya Pradesh Congress MLA Sajjan Singh Verma apparently deleted the party’s logo from his social media accounts.

Verma is regarded as one of Kamal Nath’s most ardent fans.

Ashok Chavan, the former chief minister of Maharashtra, became the latest leader of the Congress to leave the ‘Grand Old Party’ when he joined the BJP, sparking the newest rumors just a few days ago.

Chavan, a forty-year Congressman, resigned on February 12 from all party positions including his seat as the Bhokar constituency MLA.

The 65-year-old leader became a member of the BJP the next day. He submitted his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections on February 15.

Following the exits of prominent Maharashtra Congressmen Baba Siddique and Milind Deora, Chavan also left the party.

Siddique joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Ajit Pawar, while Deora joined the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde.

Kamal Nath’s Statement
On being asked if he is joining BJP, former Madhya Pradesh CM and Congress leader Kamal Nath says “Why are you all getting excited? It is not about denying. I will inform you all if there is something like that…”

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
