Sonam Raghuvanshi, charged with murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, had conspired his killing with her lover three days following their wedding, sources informed media.
In a conversation with her partner, Raj Kushwaha, Sonam revealed to him that she did not appreciate her husband being affectionate with her, as per sources.
Sonam, who turned herself in at Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh on Monday after evading capture for days after her husband’s killing, informed her lover that she had distanced herself from Raja even prior to their wedding.

Sources told that she informed Raj in a chat about her intention to murder her husband three days post-wedding. The accused intentionally selected a remote site to murder Raja, they stated.

How The Case Unfolded
Sonam, married to Raja in Indore on May 10 arriving in Meghalaya for their honeymoon on May 21, surrendered at Ghazipur early Monday after her husband’s death.
Raja was discovered deceased in a steep gorge within a mountainous forest close to Cherrapunji, as local police and officials initiated search efforts to locate the couple, who had previously been reported as “missing.”
Following her surrender to the Uttar Pradesh Police, Sonam admitted that she purportedly engaged hitmen to kill Raja. Four men, one of whom was Raj, with whom the woman had an affair, were detained for supposedly murdering her husband.
