Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was allegedly assaulted by Bibhav Kumar, who has been named as the accused in the case, and the Delhi Police arrived at his home shortly after she left for a medical check-up at the AIIMS, New Delhi, late on Thursday.
However, the police claimed that only Bibhav’s wife was present and that they did not find him at home. Maliwal filed a formal complaint hours ago, accusing him of assault and inappropriate behavior on May 13 at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s home. Sources claim that Swati Maliwal might visit AIIMS Hospital for a medical examination.

The Indian Penal Code’s sections 354 (outraging a woman’s modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (words, gestures, or act intended to insult a woman’s modesty), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) are the ones under which the police have filed a case. Earlier in the day, a two-person Delhi Police team recorded her statement at her central Delhi home.

In her statement, Maliwal allegedly informed the police about the May 13 incident that happened at the CM’s house. The Delhi Chief Minister’s personal assistant, Bibhav Kumar, was named as the accused by the AAP MP.
Due to Maliwal’s accusations, the National Commission for Women (NCW) called Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal’s assistant, earlier in the day. It is Friday that he will have his hearing.
On Thursday, Swati Maliwal responded to her formal complaint to the Delhi Police about the matter.

“What happened to me was very bad. I have given my statement to the police on the incident that happened to me. I hope that appropriate action will be taken. The last few days have been very difficult for me. I thank those who prayed for me. Those who tried to do character assassination, said that she was doing it on the instructions of the other party, may God keep them happy too. An important election is going on in the country, Swati Maliwal is not important, the issues of the country are important. There is a special request to BJP people to not do politics on this incident,” she said in an X post.
