Arrest and Allegations: Kejriwal’s Remand by Enforcement Directorate
Kejriwal was placed under remand by the Enforcement Directorate until March 28 after being arrested by the agency on March 21.
On March 21, Kejriwal was taken into custody by the ED in relation to the now-cancelled Delhi Liquor Policy case. The trial court had placed him under ED custody until March 28 the following day.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) benefited from the Delhi liquor policy, according to the ED, and used ₹ 45 crore of that money for the Goa elections.
The AAP has refuted the allegations of corruption, stating they were made up. As the party challenges the charges in court, Kejriwal will remain Delhi’s chief minister, according to the party.

Legal Battle: Arvind Kejriwal’s Plea for Release from ED Custody
Arvind Kejriwal has petitioned the Delhi High Court to be released from the ED’s custody. In his ED appearance, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju requested three weeks to respond in-depth to Kejriwal’s argument, claiming to have only received a copy of the petition yesterday.

Judge Swarana Kanta Sharma is hearing the Delhi Chief Minister’s petition, which calls for his immediate release on the grounds that the arrest and the ensuing remand to the ED were “illegal”.
In court, the Chief Minister claimed that the ED was using delaying strategies, represented by prominent attorney Abhishek Manu Singhvi. In his request for immediate release, Singhvi implored the court to grant him permission to present his answer to the Chief Minister’s prayer for temporary relief.
Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, announced on March 29 that the Chief Minister will disclose in court on March 28 the location of the funds from the “so-called” liquor scam.
