On Thursday, the BJP announced nine more candidates for the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Shikha Rai has been declared the BJP candidate to go against Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj in Greater Kailash. Meanwhile, Anil Vashishth will face off against senior AAP leader Gopal Rai from the Babarpur constituency.
Both the Congress and the ruling AAP have already declared their candidates for all 70 constituencies in Delhi. Currently, the BJP has named candidates for 68 of the 70 seats in the national capital. It is probable that the last two seats will be awarded to its allies.
Elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will take place in single phase on February 5, and the results will be revealed on February 8.
The final day for submitting nominations is January 17. The date for examining nominations is January 18. The final date to withdraw from the candidacy is January 20.

Candidates named in the fourth list are:
Ravinder Kumar (Indraj) – Bawana (SC)
Poonam Sharma – Wazirpur
Bhuvan Tanwar – Delhi Cantonment
Chandan Kumar Choudhary – Sangam Vihar
Shikha Rai – Greater Kailash
Ravikant Ujjain – Trilokpuri (SC)
Sanjay Goyal – Shahdara
Anil Vashishth – Babarpur
Praveen Nimesh – Gokalpur (SC)
The announcement was made just as the Congress revealed its final list of candidates on Thursday — designating Lokendra Chaudhary from Timarpur while Suresh Wati Chauhan ran from Rohtas Nagar.
The party has nominated Mahila Congress leader Alka Lamba from Kalkaji to challenge Chief Minister Atishi. Former ex-MP Sandeep Dikshit will run for the New Delhi seat opposing former CM Arvind Kejriwal.
The national capital will see a three-way battle in the forthcoming elections as the AAP seeks a third consecutive term in office. At the same time, the Congress, which governed for 15 uninterrupted years, faced defeats in the recent elections, not securing a single seat.
