Manipur-born IPS officer Clay Khongsai has been awarded the prestigious President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, recognizing his decades of exemplary contributions to Indian law enforcement.
Clay Khongsai, a 1996 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from Manipur, has dedicated his life to maintaining law and order in some of the most challenging regions of India. Throughout his career, he has held key positions in the Manipur Police Department, including Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP). In 2023, he was appointed Inspector General (IG) of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), bringing his wealth of experience to border security operations.
