The demonstration is part of a broader campaign seeking transparency in the conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), one of India’s largest competitive examinations. Protesters have alleged that irregularities and paper leak claims have undermined the credibility of the examination and affected the future of thousands of aspiring medical students.

Organisers said the protest would continue peacefully until their concerns are adequately addressed. They also called for stronger safeguards to prevent examination malpractices and ensure fairness for students competing for medical seats across the country.
The agitation at Jantar Mantar has attracted support from students, education activists and civil society groups, with participants arguing that the issue extends beyond a single examination and highlights the need for greater accountability in India’s testing system.
As the protest entered the night, demonstrators remained at the venue, vowing to sustain pressure on authorities and keep the issue in public focus until concrete action is taken.
