Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) national president Chirag Paswan convened a party meeting (Ram Vilas Paswan faction) in Patna, hours after meeting Union minister and BJP leader Nityanand Rai. The meeting was held to examine potential alliances for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The back-to-back meetings come amid the strong buzz of Chirag Paswan joining the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
“Today’s meeting was held to discuss LJP’s alliance in view of the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2025 Bihar Assembly polls. The party leaders authorised me to take a decision on alliance,” the LJP chief said after meeting with party leaders in Patna.

“The alliance-related conversations are still ongoing. Before taking leaving for Delhi, Chirag Paswan declared, “Being a minister is not my priority. Party officials gave Chirag Paswan the go-ahead to decide on the alliance at the meeting.
The Jamui MP stated that talks are ongoing towards joining the NDA. Before the final decision is made, nothing should be said, he said.
