The Bengaluru Police have filed a suo moto case against RCB, the state cricket organization, and DNA Entertainment regarding the stampede on Wednesday that resulted in 11 deaths and many injuries. The state government reported that the RCB’s IPL victory celebrations were handled by DNA Entertainment, while the event was organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).
The state cabinet convened today to deliberate on transferring the case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). They also consented to examine the chain of events that caused the stampede, the responsibilities of the KSCA, RCB franchise, event management firm, and law enforcement officers. Measures will be implemented against officials deemed accountable for the failures that caused the stampede.
The police report has been registered under five provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 105 that addresses culpable homicide.

In addition to the initial information report (FIR), district magistrate G Jagadeesha, assigned by the Karnataka government to look into the matter, stated today that notices will be issued to the KSCA, the Bengaluru Metro, and the RCB franchise.
Jagadeesha went to Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru today and examined the entrances where congestion had occurred prior to the situation escalating into a stampede.
The district magistrate stated that he will review CCTV footage and other visuals from the area at the time of the incident, for which he will request statements from the families of the deceased and injured.
The district magistrate stated that the general public can provide their statements from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on June 13. A roster of officers who were assigned during the RCB’s IPL triumph celebration will be compiled, and they will be requested to provide their accounts, he mentioned.
