The BCCI has revealed its yearly player contracts for the Indian men’s cricket team for the 2024-25 season. Senior Indian players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja have been kept in the highest category – A+ – even though the three stepped back from T20Is last year. Jasprit Bumrah is the fourth athlete in this group, with the board assigning contracts to a total of 34 players.
The A category includes six players: KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, and Rishabh Pant, who has received a promotion.
Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have returned to the contracts list after being overlooked last season, as the board penalized them for their absence from domestic cricket.
Iyer has been placed in grade B with Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Yashasvi Jaiswal while Ishan Kishan is in grade C, which includes the maximum number of players – 19.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Abhishek Sharma, and Varun Chakaravarthy have received their first BCCI central contracts after being selected in grade C. Spinner Chakaravarthy has been acknowledged for his significant contribution to India’s victory at the Champions Trophy.
