Jay Shah confirms the prize money through social media
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a crucial decision to boost domestic cricket by introducing prize money for outstanding players. This program will recognize and reward players at all levels of domestic cricket in India, marking a significant milestone in talent appreciation. Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary with an honourary title, verified the information on his social media account.
This choice shows that the BCCI is dedicated to boosting domestic cricket by offering opportunities for young players and rewarding their achievements. Prize money will be given out in every Women’s and Junior Cricket competitions, as well as the renowned Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for men’s senior cricket.

Jay Shah stated that prize money will be awarded to the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in all Women’s and Junior Cricket tournaments as part of our Domestic Cricket Programme. Furthermore, a cash prize will be given to the Player of the Match in the Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournaments for Senior Men.
The Duleep Trophy marks the beginning of India’s domestic season in September. The Irani Cup will follow it in October. India’s top first-class competition, the Ranji Trophy, is set to begin on October 11. The Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament will commence on November 23, followed by the Vijay Hazare Trophy starting on December 21.
