As the BJP swept through the Delhi Assembly elections, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah made a veiled dig at opposition INDIA alliance members Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), mocking their impending defeat.

Abdullah, a senior leader of the National Conference, which is also a member of the INDIA grouping, took to X as counting patterns suggested a massive loss for both the ruling AAP and the Congress party in Delhi. He shared a popular meme, and wrote: “Jee bhar kar lado. Samaapt kardo ek dusre ko! (Fight to your heart’s content. Finish off each other.”

He also jokingly captioned the photo, “Aur lado aapas mein!!! (Why don’t you fight amongst yourself some more?”

The remarks come amid rising tensions within the INDIA alliance, with Abdullah publicly criticizing the group’s inner workings and member parties’ lack of unity in the aftermath of the Lok Sabha elections.

The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister had earlier questioned the alliance’s long-term purpose, claiming that it “should be wound up if it was only for parliamentary polls.”

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
