Amitabh Bachchan to Alia Bhatt: Celebrities anticipated to be present at Mahakumbh 2025

Reports indicate that notable figures such as megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Anup Jalota, Renuka Shahane, Ashutosh Rana, Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari, Akshara Singh, and Rakhi Sawant, among others, are likely to attend the holy Mahakumbh.

The Mahakumbh 2025 commenced this year at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers – Sangam – in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The holy festival is occurring in Prayagraj after a span of 144 years.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that the Mahakumbh will take place from January 13 to February 26. The spiritual event has captured global attention, as numerous renowned celebrities travel to India to immerse themselves in sacred waters.

Mahakumbh is among the largest and most important religious gatherings globally, occurring every twelve years at one of four regions in India – Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik, and Ujjain respectively.

Reports indicate that notable figures such as megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Anup Jalota, Renuka Shahane, Ashutosh Rana, Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari, Akshara Singh, and Rakhi Sawant, among others, are likely to attend the holy Mahakumbh.

Celebrities expected to perform at Mahakumbh

On January 16, singer Shankar Mahadevan is anticipated to take the stage, while Mohit Chauhan will wrap up the event on February 24.

Anup Jalota, Kailash Kher, Shaan Mukherjee, Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kavita Seth, and Maithili Thakur, among others, are anticipated to take the stage at the Ganga Pandal during Mahakumbh Mela. Folk musician and vocalist Malini Awasthi will bring her unique allure to the collective spiritual gathering.

As per reports, classical musicians like Dr L Subramaniam, Bickram Ghosh, and Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, along with renowned dancers like Shovana Narayan, are expected to perform as well.

Hollywood celebrities like Richard Gere, David Lynch, Michael Douglas and his actress spouse Catherine Zeta-Jones, along with Tibetan leader Dalai Lama, have also been present at previous Mahakumbh Melas.

American billionaire businesswoman and philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs, the wife of Apple founder Steve Jobs, visited the ashram of her guru, Swami Kailashnand Giri, the Acharya Mahamandleshwar of Niranjini Akhara, in Prayagraj on Saturday. She will remain at the camp until January 15 before returning to the US to take part in the swearing-in ceremony for UP President-elect Donald Trump, according to reports.
