Akshay Kumar gets candid on Shikhar Dhawan’s show
In the premiere episode of Shikhar Dhawan‘s new chat show, Dhawan Karenge, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar spoke candidly about his past challenges and the values instilled in him by his family. Akshay, known for his adaptability and tireless work ethics, set the tone for the season with his charisma and engaging attitude.
Reflecting on his journey, Akshay said,”We rented a one-bedroom apartment in Koliwada for Rs 100 per month. Even then, we had only one goal: keep laughing and never have a dull moment.”
During their lively talk, Akshay Kumar and Shikhar Dhawan demonstrated their friendship by participating in a dance challenge to the song ‘Mast Malang’ from Akshay’s film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Their mutual respect and passion in fitness and athletics were clear. Akshay explained, “We both have a childlike attitude, which is why we get along. You are in cricket, and I am in films, but you enjoy exercise, and we both enjoy sports, which is why we get along.”

Akshay recalls his father’s motivational advice
Akshay Kumar also offered his father’s inspiring life advise, emphasizing the value of laughing. “My father instilled in me a single purpose in life. He would say, ‘Laugh and keep laughing.’ He would keep telling the same jokes, and we would laugh repeatedly. We did nothing except laugh in our home,” he recounted, inspiring viewers to embrace joy regardless of their circumstances.
Akshay also held Shikhar’s hand and forced him participate in the dancing challenge. Together, they reproduced Akshay’s iconic “Don’t Angry Me” speech from his 2012 flick Rowdy Rathore, resulting in memorable moments on the show.

Following his action-packed role in the thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Tiger Shroff, Akshay is presently filming Jolly LLB 3, which also stars Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla. The first and second installments of Jolly LLB, directed by Subhash Kapoor, follow the journey of two underdog lawyers as they seek recognition and fairness in the legal field.
