Stand-up comedian Swati Sachdeva has become the target of online criticism after a segment from her latest YouTube episode, in which she humorously discusses her mother discovering her vibrator, gained widespread attention. Users of social media are wondering if there ought to be restrictions on humor, particularly when it pertains to parents.
The video, extracted from an episode posted by Swati on her YouTube channel a week ago, depicts her sharing a story about her mother, who, attempting to be the “hip mom,” discovered the gadget and clumsily started a discussion.
She joked, “I was sure she (her mother) was going to ask me to lend the vibrator. She started calling it (the vibrator) a gadget, a toy. I was like, ‘I swear, Mom, it belongs to Papa.’ She said, ‘Don’t speak nonsense; I know his choice.'”
The episode titled ‘Family First’ showcases Swati humorously discussing different topics. She included a disclaimer in the description area stating, “The video features some strong language and adult humor for comedic effect; viewer discretion is recommended.”

A part of the internet has expressed significant worries about including parents in stand-up acts. “This is what comedy has become? Just vulgarity and cheap jokes?” a user asked, while another added, “If Ranveer and Samay face legal action for their jokes, will Swati be next?”
“Probably the most cringeworthy standup ‘comedy’ you will ever see,” one of the users said on X.
The discussion arises right after the controversy involving YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina. Raina was recently interrogated by the Maharashtra Cyber Police regarding allegations tied to inappropriate material.
It began when a clip of Allahbadia posing an inappropriate question to a contestant on Samay Raina’s popular YouTube show India’s Got Latent became widely shared. Several grievances were submitted regarding the show’s crew. Allahbadia, Raina later expressed regret for the offensive comment.
