Bollywood star Salman Khan received yet another death threat after an unidentified person sent a WhatsApp message to the Transport Department in Worli, Mumbai, sources reported on Monday.
The message, as per sources, threatened to kill the actor at his Mumbai home and also cautioned about bombing his car.
A report has been filed against an unknown individual at the Worli Police Station, with authorities attempting to examine the origin of the threat and verify its credibility, they stated.
In recent years, the Bollywood actor has received numerous death threats, most of which are said to be indirectly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, thought to be targetting Khan due to his supposed connection to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
In April 2024, two motorbike-borne individuals shot outside the actor’s residence, Galaxy Apartment in Bandra, before escaping. They were subsequently apprehended in Gujarat for the shooting, which authorities asserted was orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Subsequently, the Bishnoi gang intimidated the actor and insisted that he either go to a temple, publicly apologize for the supposed blackbuck killing, or pay Rs 5 crore.
In October last year, certain unidentified persons once more threatened the actor, insisting on a ransom of Rs 2 crore. In 2023, a threat email purportedly dispatched by gangster Goldy Brar was received.
