Amanatullah Khan arrested following a six-hour questioning
Amanatullah Khan, an MLA from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was detained by the Enforcement Directorate on Monday following a six-hour interrogation regarding a money laundering investigation tied to the Delhi Waqf Board issue.
After being arrested, Khan was taken out of his residence by police officers and ED investigators. Being forced into the back of a waiting car, he declared, “I’m not guilty.”
ED officials conducted raid at Khan’s Okhla residence
This morning, ED officials conducted a raid at Khan’s residence in Okhla, the area he serves as the representative in the Delhi Assembly. The AAP leader, accused of illegal recruitment and financial misconduct while serving as the chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board, went on X and announced, “The ED officials have just come to my residence to take me into custody.”
While the ED team carried out their search, a significant number of Delhi Police and paramilitary forces were positioned outside Khan’s residence. Images from the scene depicted officers examining documents and items, with stringent security on the streets approaching his home.

Khan accused government of targeting him
In response to the raid, Khan posted a video on social media, accusing the government of targeting him and other AAP leaders.
“Earlier today, as per the dictator’s command, his puppet ED came to my house. The dictator is doing everything possible to bother me and AAP leaders. Is it considered illegal to honestly help the people? For how much longer will this authoritarian regime endure?” Khan stated.
AAP leaders criticize ED’s actions
AAP leaders immediately showed support for Amanatullah Khan, criticizing the ED’s actions and predicting his arrest. AAP MP Sanjay Singh expressed on X that Khan was being singled out because of the BJP’s political vendetta.
“See the brutality of ED @KhanAmanatullah as he initially cooperated with the ED investigation, but later requested more time due to his mother-in-law’s cancer diagnosis and surgery, only to have officials arrive early in the morning to conduct a raid. Singh stated that there is no proof against @KhanAmanatullah, yet both Modi’s authoritarian rule and ED’s thuggery persist,” said Singh.
