Delhi High Court rejects Kejriwal’s petition
Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has received a big blow from the High Court.
On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court, while hearing the matter, rejected the petition in which Kejriwal had challenged the arrest by ED. He had opposed the arrest and ED remand through his petition. During this, the High Court gave a blow to Kejriwal and said that the evidence collected by the investigating agency shows that Kejriwal hatched the entire conspiracy with other accused.
Justice Swarnkanta Sharma, while giving the verdict on the petition for arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, said that Kejriwal was not only involved in this entire conspiracy but was also involved in taking bribe and other things that happened related to this crime. “As the national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party, Kejriwal himself was involved in making liquor policy as well as collecting bribe money. The statements that have been recorded in this case were recorded before the court.”

During this time, the High Court said in clear words that the court is governed by law and not by political pressure. Now the Aam Aadmi Party will approach the Supreme Court on Wednesday to challenge the High Court’s decision. Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has announced this in a press conference.
What more Court said?
On Kejriwal’s argument that the arrest took place after the election announcement, he said that accepting this argument would mean that if the arrest had not taken place at the time of the elections, it could not have been challenged.
The court said that ED has a lot of evidence. It contains statements of hawala dealers, statements of approvers, apart from this, statements of Aam Aadmi Party members are also present, who have said that it was given money to spend in Goa elections. This completes the money trail regarding Goa elections. Kejriwal’s arrest is not a violation of law and the remand of Delhi CM cannot be called illegal.
The High Court also rejected Kejriwal’s argument that he could have been interrogated through video conferencing also. The High Court said that ED decides the time of arrest.
AAP politician and minister for Delhi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, responded to the high court ruling by saying that while his party respects the Delhi High Court, it disagrees with its ruling about Arvind Kejriwal and will appeal to the Supreme Court.
