Ghislaine Maxwell didn’t just know Bill Clinton — she travelled with him to India, joining official visits in 2003 and 2006, as emails and records now show.

December 20, 2025: Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite convicted in 2021 for child sex trafficking linked to Jeffrey Epstein, did not merely cross paths with former U.S. President Bill Clinton in passing. Newly scrutinised records show that Maxwell travelled thousands of miles to accompany Clinton on official visits to India, underscoring the closeness of their association during the height of Clinton’s post-presidency global engagements.
While Clinton has repeatedly denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes, emails, travel records, and photographs released over the years reveal that Maxwell was not a distant acquaintance. Instead, she was physically present alongside Clinton on international trips—most notably in India—placing herself within his inner circle during sensitive diplomatic and humanitarian missions.
Why India Matters
India stands out because Maxwell did not simply attend social events in the United States or Europe. She flew with Clinton on at least two documented India trips, embedding herself in his travel entourage during visits that involved meetings with senior Indian leaders and high-profile humanitarian programmes.
These were not casual stopovers. Clinton’s India visits were carefully planned, security-heavy engagements tied to the Clinton Foundation and United Nations initiatives. Maxwell’s presence on these trips suggests a level of trust and access that went beyond coincidence.
The 2003 India Trip: Traveling Together
The first confirmed India-linked journey occurred in November 2003, shortly after Clinton left office. Secret Service records obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests show that Clinton and Maxwell travelled together from Agra, India, back to Los Angeles on November 22, 2003, via a refuelling stop in Japan.
The group—comprising Clinton, Maxwell, staff members, and security personnel—had earlier visited the Taj Mahal as part of a broader foundation-linked itinerary focused on global health initiatives, including HIV/AIDS. The aircraft used belonged to billionaire Ron Burkle.
That Maxwell was part of this tightly controlled group highlights her proximity to Clinton at a time when his post-presidency influence was expanding globally. Jeffrey Epstein did not accompany this trip, but Maxwell’s inclusion indicates she remained firmly embedded in Clinton’s orbit.

The 2006 India Visit: Emails Reveal Proximity
Maxwell’s closeness to Clinton became even clearer during his November–December 2006 visit to India. Clinton travelled to the country from November 29 to December 1 to meet then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and participate in humanitarian programmes linked to post-tsunami rehabilitation.
Maxwell accompanied him.
Her presence during this trip is corroborated by emails later released by the House Oversight Committee. On November 30, 2006, while Clinton was in Mumbai, Maxwell emailed Epstein stating that she had “met up w/ clinton,” naming several of his close associates. The wording suggests a deliberate meeting during the India visit, not a chance encounter.

The following day, Maxwell emailed Epstein again, saying she was “going to a tsunami village today,” later adding: “fun – at a Tsunami zone – so wild.” This directly aligns with Clinton’s documented visit on December 1 to Thazhanguda village in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore district, where he inspected homes and schools built after the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
Cuddalore is located in southern India, confirming that Maxwell travelled with Clinton from Mumbai to Tamil Nadu. While exact flight details remain redacted, such movements typically involved private or chartered aircraft arranged through Clinton Foundation-linked logistics.

Constant Contact With Epstein
What makes the India trips particularly significant is that Maxwell remained in active communication with Epstein throughout this period. Even as she accompanied Clinton on high-level humanitarian visits, she continued emailing Epstein, highlighting the overlapping worlds she inhabited.
These emails, released in 2025 as part of a broader tranche of Epstein-related documents, demonstrate how Maxwell functioned as a bridge between Epstein’s network and elite political and philanthropic circles.
No Allegations, But Persistent Questions
There is no evidence that Clinton engaged in criminal conduct during these India visits, and Maxwell has stated that Clinton never visited Epstein’s private island and that she witnessed no misconduct involving him. Clinton has similarly maintained that his interactions with Maxwell were limited to legitimate foundation work.
However, the India trips remain a focal point because they show that Maxwell was not merely an occasional associate. She travelled internationally to be alongside Clinton, joined him on sensitive visits, and embedded herself within his official entourage—facts that continue to fuel public scrutiny as more Epstein-related records come to light.
As additional documents emerge, the India connection offers one of the clearest windows into how close Maxwell and Clinton were during a critical period, and how deeply Epstein’s network intersected with global power corridors.
