A Tense Pendulum: Australia’s Tenuous Hold:

Australia resumed at 144/8, leading by 218 runs at stumps on Day 2, thanks to a spirited lower-order stand between Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc.

They extended their innings to 148 all out, giving them a total lead of 222 runs before South Africa began their second innings early on Day 3 .

Pat Cummins, already atop the milestone charts with 300 Test wickets, continues to frustrate the South African batting line-up, his fierce spell ensuring the Aussies remain in the driver’s seat.

Day 3 Strategy: Can South Africa Stage a Comeback?

Now facing a 222-run deficit, South Africa’s hopes lie squarely on their skilled top order and resilient middle order. The morning session will be critical early gains could rapidly swing momentum southward.

South Africa bowlers, led by match-winner Kagiso Rabada (already snared 7 wickets), are keen to up the ante and enforce their dominance. The toss, early morning conditions, and pitch behaviour will all play a part in determining how brightly Lord’s lights burn tonight .

Captain’s Take: 50–50 at the Break

Australia skipper Pat Cummins, ever measured, described the contest as “pretty close to 50–50” ahead of the day’s play underlining this as an all-or-nothing day for both sides.

What to Expect Today:

Early wickets will favour South Africa’s chase every breakthrough in the first few overs is pivotal.

Australia’s tail must aim for a 30–40‑run lead to build a defendable target.

Momentum swings: in high-stakes Tests, a single session can alter the game’s tide forever.

Why Day 3 at Lord’s Matters:

The Day 3 of any test match is called as the moving day, but in the case of this edition’s final, Day 3 could give us this edition’s Champion as both the teams failed to bat for longer hours.

South Africa are banking on their bench strength and cold-blooded chase temperament Day 3 will test both.

Today’s play promises everything: early morning drama, shifting momentum, and possibly the climactic turn that decides the WTC destiny. Whether Australia consolidate or South Africa claw back, the world is watching at Lord’s.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
