Airtel has reached an agreement with SpaceX to introduce Starlink’s satellite internet service in India. The agreement relies on SpaceX obtaining permission from regulators to offer Starlink services in the country.
Through this partnership, Airtel and SpaceX will explore collaborative opportunities, as mentioned in the press release from Airtel.
Airtel could retail Starlink devices in its outlets and provide Starlink services to companies. They also intend to leverage Starlink to provide internet access to rural schools, healthcare facilities, and isolated regions.
Airtel and SpaceX will also explore ways in which Starlink can assist Airtel’s network, as well as how SpaceX can utilize Airtel’s infrastructure in India.
Airtel is already collaborating with Eutelsat OneWeb for satellite internet services. Adding Starlink will assist Airtel in broadening its coverage to regions with minimal or no internet access. Companies and communities in isolated areas will also receive additional choices for high-speed internet access.

We are continually astonished by the remarkable and motivating things that individuals, companies, and organizations accomplish when linked through Starlink.”
“The Airtel team has been crucial in shaping India’s telecom narrative, so collaborating with them to enhance our direct services is a logical choice for our company,” Shotwell added.
