Today in Delhi, the anti-drugs agency seized over 80 kg of top-quality cocaine valued at around ₹ 900 crore. The confiscation of the party drug, described as one of the “largest amounts of cocaine in Delhi,” occurred during a joint operation by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Navy, and Gujarat ATS that resulted in the discovery of approximately 700 kg of Methamphetamine off the Gujarat coast.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah commended the seizures, describing them as indicative of the government’s commitment to creating a “drug-free Bharat”.
The NCB revealed that the seizure in the capital city was a result of months of following leads from previous seizures in March and August.
“Following up on the leads uncovered during the seizures in March and August 2024, and utilizing both technical and human intelligence, the NCB successfully traced the origin of the contraband, resulting in the recovery of 82.53 kg of premium-quality cocaine from Janakpuri and Nangloi,” it said.
